Where Our Flowers Grow

Merek & Sonny: the sweetest flower helpers of Love, Saskatchewan

The majority of the flowers that are used in our projects are grown and foraged locally in Love, Saskatchewan. Shay deeply enjoys gardening and watching flowers grow. Each year, she is adding to her garden and finding new spots to grow her flowers. Thankfully, Shay's husband, Cody, is quite the handyman, and usually takes her up on her new flower visions. Merek & Sonny, Shay's best little helpers, enjoy being tasked with whatever mommy lets them do. Some might say that Shay has a green thumb, but if you knew how many hydrangeas she's killed, you would say otherwise.

Shay learnt much of what she knows from her mother who resides close by and is always willing to let Shay raid her own flower garden. This is where our print "MEEMAW'S GARDEN" was born from. Now that she has gained a bonus mom through her marriage to Cody, Shay also enjoys poking though 'Nana's' garden, hence the name of our print "NANA'S GARDEN". 

Guaranteed, if you gift Shay flowers, she will be pressing them. Some of those flowers might even be used in future projects! Don't be surprised if ever you invite Shay to your home, she may have a book in hand asking if she might sneak a couple flowers. 

Shay is greatly inspired by the beautiful world around her. Flower pressing has grown her love for creation, but more importantly, her love for the Creator.
